Braided Rugs for the Winter
Braided rugs are a great way to add a cozy feel to any room. They come in so many sizes, colors, and materials that there’s bound to be one to meet your needs. Cotton, chenille, and wool make these rugs the perfect addition to an entryway, bathroom, or in their larger sizes, as oval family room rugs.
The braided rug is the traditional American rug. Early colonists used scraps of clothing and rags to create warmth and color in homes. Imagine being a colonist in cold New England. Those rugs you’ve been making will help the children’s feet stay warm during the harsh winters. Or, maybe you’re a pioneer and you have to live in the frore South Dakota plains. What do you do to add some warmth and vibrancy to your cabin? Make braided rugs out of the children’s old clothes. And while most manufacturers don’t make braided rugs in the same style, they still provide the same sentiments of warmth and comfort.
